Do I Need New Shoes?

After new front pads on the S10. I took a look at the drums today. Im not sure if they need to be replaced or not. There are some metal particles for some reason.

Edit: By the commenters and I looked up some new shoes and they aren’t much thicker than these, so no brake job! Pretty good for 15 year old shoes.

Look okay to me. It usually takes a hell of a long time for rear drum shoes to wear out.

Drums outnumber disc brakes in my household, and even then, we’re never usually ‘sure’ about when to change shoes. Rotors are easy to tell, like discs, but not so much shoes. So we just keep a schedule of every 20,000 miles or so.

Looks like a lot of pad left. Drums look OK. Nice thing about brass rivets is if you get down to them, they don’t ruin your drum. Keep them adjusted regularly and they should last a while.

Don’t know why I said rotors there, I meant drums >_<
